so mallory and i want to convert bethany into a kpop fan and i figured WHY NOT START WITH MY FAVORITE, BIG BANG?? obviously i haven’t been in the kpop fandom for all too long, but i have a playlist of 60+ of my favorite big bang videos on youtube so i figured, why not organize them into a nice little intro post and convert everyone into a fan and have y’all cry over how much u love these guys w/ me

the members: i guess this would be a good place to start

• g-dragon (kwon jiyong) - leader of the group, composes/writes lyrics for a ton of their songs, a huge fashion icon, and is just a charismatic little perfectionist who changes his hairstyle so often that it is literally impossible to keep up with
• t.o.p (choi seunghyun) - the oldest and main rapper, has a deliciously deep voice and even though he looks all cool and sexy, he is SUCH a child omg he is really gr8 at imitating the other members and is just generally ridiculous
• taeyang (dong youngbae) - generally known for his mohawk, has an incredible voice and has some incredible solo songs!! his dancing pretty much blows me away and is a total troll over on twitter. what a tease.
• daesung (kang daesung) - i feel like daesung is always smiling and always truly genuinely happy UvU i wish he was my best friend tbh. he has my favorite voice of the group, and he is a huge scaredy cat hehehe
• seungri (lee seunghyun) - the youngest of the quintet with a silky smooth voice…he is a flirt and also does some really great impersonations…he’s also very business-oriented and because of the dark circles under his eyes, people call him “panda”

MUSIC VIDEOS: okay i am going to limit myself to just six videos for this because i know i’ll go crazy otherwise so yEAH

• fantastic baby - okay this is the MV that really sparked my interest for the group, it’s got a really great beat and is one of their more dance-y songs and my brother also likes it, and he doesn’t like anything, so that’s saying something
• lies - basically the start of them becoming a huge kpop sensation. also, the video is kind of ridiculous. she kills him with…a pineapple? okay. o…kay……..
• love song - okay this song is ridiculously good and the video was FILMED IN A SINGLE CONTINUOUS SHOT HOW COOL IS THAT also ugh i can’t find the article where it said so, but this is one of the most expensive kpop videos ever or s/t because they had to build their own road to use for the MV, hahaha
• blue - one of their more mellow songs and honestly i could listen to it for days without getting sick of it. one of my top 5 songs for them tbh
• bad boy - i didn’t want to include three songs from the same album, but i needed to put something in here that shows their hip-hop roots and bad boy is just that song. also, i love how they all get rejected by the girls in the video, haha
• haru haru - incredibly powerful song, incredibly powerful video. when i started listening to big bang and watched this MV i was surprised that i actually already knew the song, albeit i don’t know where from?? was it in an anime or something…? i don’t know. but i’d say this is one of their most popular songs and when they do it live it is just breathtaking, u g h

miscellaneous must-see videos: to help u get a better feel for everyone

• big bang on go show - first of 4 parts! i love this so much oh my god, it showcases each member’s personality really well and is pretty much hysterical. also includes a wonderful seungri imitation by top
• big bang at a theme park - big bang on a roller coaster and going through a haunted house. their true natures are revealed. you will laugh until you cry (or at least i did…)
• i am the best - big bang covered labelmate 2ne1’s hit song “i am the best” and oh my GOD is it the best. it’s probably funnier if you know/listen to 2ne1, too, but either way it’s just great. i am forever jealous of everyone who got to see this live…
• encore in guangzhou - seungri records their encore performance of “fantastic baby” on his phone and ugh they are so silly. what cuties UvU
• seungri imitating people - exactly what it sounds like. absolutely hysterical.
• gd&top making of high high - i just really…love this for no particular reason…also, 2:57: seungri takes a shot and FUCKING DROPS IT. you don’t even want to know how hard i laughed/how much i replayed that part when i first saw this. oh my god.
• perry’s storm MV - why yes, that kid at 1:16 IS g-dragon. how did u know. basically i can’t get over how young he is here and that’s the only reason why i’m including it…

solo stuff/side projects: i’m only posting one thing for each person, just to showcase their individuality a bit more, but SERIOUSLY go look up more than just this!! these boys have so much talent it’s ridiculous

• taeyang’s wedding dress - holy shit, the choreography of this song. this boy has got SERIOUS talent, man. this song makes me weep :’(
• daesung’s wings - okay, so this song doesn’t have a MV or anything, but holy SHIT do i love this song and the live performance is really amazing, so, yeah.
• seungri’s strong baby - okay, it was really hard for me to choose between this and VVIP, but this song is just A TOTAL FUCKING TURN-ON OH MY GOD I CANNOT TAKE MY EYES OFF THIS BOY. “HEY SEXY”. UGH PUH-LEASE.
• top’s turn it up - all those weird toys and things are items that top actually owns. what does that say about him? judge for yourself.
• gd’s one of a kind - honestly choosing just one song of his to put here was WAY TOO HARD. but i had to choose the one with the tiger cub and dancing bear. how can you top that? you can’t. but really, check out his stuff from the “heartbreaker” era, this kid is way talented.
• gd&top’s knock out - prepare for this song to get stuck in your head for weeks. basically everything that gd&top touch is gold and this song is no different. also, they look hella fine in this MV, GOD.

and that concludes my big bang intro post!! holy shit, i can’t believe i actually made this. i hope you guys end up loving them as much as i do UnU and then we can bond over them as we cry about our feelings. it’s a win-win. if you want more information, this post goes really in-depth with everything and i found it to be super useful! if u have any questions pls feel free to ask!!
