So I’ve been thinking a lot about how in the universe of Elementary the Sherlock Holmes stories don’t exist. Because this is real Sherlock Holmes so there’s no fictional Sherlock Holmes. Which like whatever. But then it’s like whoa think about the impact that has. Think about the how difference the tropes in detective fiction are? The tropes in procedurals? Kit pointed out that Holmes stories had a lot of impact on the development of Batman so like MAYBE THERE’S NO BATMAN???

And then my best friend pointed out the greatest point of all, nobody in this universe says “no shit sherlock”. It doesn’t exist as a phrase.
